[the communicator shuffles a bit, before she brings it to level with her face. Her voice suddenly changes from despair to rage, the shift so fast that she barely even realizes that it happened.]

[there's a bit of a rustling sound as she turns on the communicator, snickering.] Remember what I said before? About this year being a total bust?

Well, I lied. [she giggles.] I totally--hey! What's the big deal?

But this is news! Like, super important news! It's totally--eek! [she starts to laugh, but the communicator cuts her short, the transmission going dead.]

[the sound of Ohura's engine roaring to life can be heard, as she pulls the communicator close.]

Kaneda! I'm taking Ohura out.

I've got to go save my stupid friend.

Mmmm! It feels so great in here. I need a bigger jacket, though...

Heaters are functional - you're welcome! - and you can find them in the lobby of your apartment buildings, as well as the high school clinic, cafeteria, and lobby. I'll be running periodic checks on them, but those are our main heat spots for the next few weeks! I have a bigger plan ready for building-wide heat, but since we've got a few fire-users around here, make sure you guys chip in! If there are any problems, let me know.

Where is everyone, by the way? I want another head count! We've lost a ton of people lately, and I want to make sure everyone is still here..

This place is perfect! A little cramped and dingy, but now that we've cleaned it out, it's more than enough for what we need. If anyone's wondering, the garage is located on Gohl Avenue, right down the street from Gohl house. It's nice and remote, so its a little farther out of harm's way, but if some pyromaniac comes and burns this one down.. well. I've got two guns and a great aim for a girl who looks so petite and proper.

Guys, I organized things into boxes and old crates that were either already here or dragged over, so everything is where it should be. If we had a few tables, we could totally start drafting a few more plans, but until then..

I'm calling an official mechanics meeting! Tomorrow, in the garage, at noon! All of you better show up, or else! And, hey, anyone who wants to come with them totally should. Over the next few weeks, we're going to need as much help as we can get, because we're finally going to go in and get that high school powered with electricity.

Oh, Mechanics! ♥ It's about time we get started on powering the high school. Kaneda, have you found anything, yet? I need for all of you to keep an eye out for a good base of operations, because after we find one, we'll be scavenging for parts to create generators for the school. Taking apart old vehicles, maybe even ripping up some registers from the stores in the shopping district..? Either way, we have a ton of stuff to do, and all this crazy stuff going on is not going to keep us waiting any longer! Let's get to it, guys!

Whew--what a time I've had lately! Ness, sorry for not coming to the cookout! I had to help out a friend--which, by the way, you do that quick-healing thing, right? 'Cause he's in the clinic right now, and his leg is sort of ... well, broken.

My roomie's back home! I thought you'd gone and disappeared on me, No-Name! I'll see you at home soon, okay?

Huh.. what else was there. Oh! Kaneda! How's your bike working out? Did you find any kind of alternative fuel for it..? I've got a couple of ideas, but it'll be a trial and error kind of thing.. maybe that eco stuff could work, too! It's doing a great job powering Marshall and Gohl, from what I hear.

By the way, with my next post I'll be releasing a full list of the mechanics team, so make sure you check in now! I'll not only be announcing our next meeting, but also the date and time of our search for cars and motorcycles. I know the location of a few, but the problem is finding them in a condition that we can actually work with. We can salvage parts from the ones that are beyond repair, as well. For this, I'm going to need you mechanics, as well as a few strong movers. Who's up for it?
